Maroon 5 + Counting Crows

August 19th, 2008

Well we’re at it again, Zack, Badinan, Peter, and I will be attending Maroon 5 + Counting Crows tonight at the Molson Amphitheatre.

Here’s the deal, we bought lawn seats so we could get absolutely trashed while watching 2 amazing bands play. I will definitely be bringing my video camera and put an amazing video up on the site.

So stay tuned.

Check out The Perfect Autumn

August 6th, 2008

I’ve been listening to some Youtube artists at work lately and this is definitely one of the better artists out there. He has some covers and a lot of original songs. This guy is definitely a talented singer and song writer.

He took me by surprise when I listened to his cover of “Fall For You” by Secondhand Serenade. Not only does he nail the song, he puts his own acoustic spin on the song. Check it out below.

Matthew Good Concert… not really

June 14th, 2008

Well when we heard Matthew Good was playing at the Mississauga waterfront festival we were pumped and just had to go. Unfortunately we got rained out. It was pouring pretty hard last night, but anyways, without further adue, here is our night last night. Though we didn’t get to see Matthew Good, it was a ‘Good’ night (lol yea, my jokes are terrible).

City and Colour!

June 6th, 2008

Well, it’s only natural to do a post about City and Colour, considering me and peter are going to see them tonight.

Dallas Green plays in Alexisonfire, a prominent band in the Canadian music industry. In the last couple years he has been composing some amazing songs for himself and has released them under the name “City and Colour”. It is him and his guitar at his concerts and is definitely and amazing experience.

Well… I’m off to see City and Colour! stay tuned for a video tomorrow maybe of our adventure!

Something Coporate

June 4th, 2008

I don’t really post about big mainstream bands, but i couldn’t help myself when it comes to Something Corporate.

This is one of my favorite bands, I’ve been listening to them since i was in grade 11. The mixture of piano and rock really astounds me. I have their DVD at my house, and let me tell you, both their sound and performances amaze me. You definitely can’t get much better than Something Corporate when it comes to shows.

Although Andrew(lead singer/piano) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia, he has since recovered and is now cancer free. He now plays in the band Jack’s Mannequin and is still rocking it out.

Though Jack’s Mannequin is still piano type rock, it has a different sound and will never be the same as Something Corporate. Their unique shows and songs showed the world what it’s like to rock out on the piano.

If you have never heard of this band, or are like many people and are like “Shit, I heard this band before but it was some long ass song and then turned it off”(AKA Konstantine @ 9:00 ish in length). Check them out @ somethingcorporate.com, Youtube, or just borrow the DVD off me.

I can definitely say this band is top notch, I think I’ve learned every single one of their songs on piano. And I’m Proud of it!

Know some other good bands? Don’t hesitate to drop me a message on the contact page.

The Academy Is… here?

June 2nd, 2008

The Academy Is… is from Chicago, Illinois and started in 2002. This band has grown exponentially and definitely lives up to their name. They come out with hit after hit and haven’t stopped.

They have been on the warped tour many, many times, so you know they are going to be good. If you’ve never heard of them, or haven’t heard them in a while, check them out at Myspace. They have some new stuff up. Other than that, their music pretty much speaks for themselves - definitely something to check out.

Here’s the link.
