iPhone Finally in Canada

Well it happened; the iPhone is officially in Canada. With its sleek new look, GPS capabilities, and 3G Network it will definitely be a contender to the Blackberry’s market.

Reading the enterprise section of the iPhone’s mini-site really showed me how much they are working toward the business market. Tailoring to the business side of things will definitely sell a lot more iPhones.

Looking at the recreational side of things, the GPS and 3G network will definitely help out the everyday consumer. Whether it is arguing over a simple fact you could Google, (with 3G capabilities) or getting lost on that road you thought you knew (GPS), the new iPhone tailors very well to Average consumers as well.

All-in-all the new iPhone will definitely sell very well, with both sides of the cell phone market being tailored to, there’s no stopping the iPhone.

How i streamed my TV, and 1TB Media collection to my iPod Touch

So i have about 1.25TB of storage space on my PC, which equates to a hell of a lot of music, videos, and whatnot. So Naturally i’d like to access this from anywhere, well, just my iPod Touch in particular.

Heres the steps i took to accomplish this:

NOTE: I did this on windows(simplifymedia.com for os x)

1. Go to orb.com click download

2. click ‘run’

3. go through installation and fill out information as needed

4. click desktop icon5. create a new account

6. when finished with that, right click on the orb icon on the bottom right of the screen and go to configuration

7. Here you will be able to set up your tv connection and what folders will be available for streaming8. Adjust configuration to whatever you want

9. Click ok

10. Right click on the orb icon again (bottom right) click go to orb

11. Sign in

12. go to your iPod Touch/iPhone (Must be jailbroken!)

13. open installer app

14. go to multimedia>orblive

15. install

16. start it, put in your info

17. NOTE: if you get an error installing, just go to orb.com on your iphone… works pretty much the same.

18. Navigate the menus and enjoy your streamed massive library!

iPod Touch Review

So i broke down and bought the 8GB version last week, and let me tell you, this thing is one amazing piece of equipment. With Wi-Fi and an amazing browser built in, its hard not to use it for web browsing, even at home.

I Jailbroke this thing this as soon as i got home and it’s never let me down. Installing the last.fm app, MSN, safari fixes and iPhysics has been the easiest thing in the world from the installer app. The multi-touch interface is flawless, amazing scrolling and zooming controls and easy to navigate all the menus… now if i could just get my VoIP info from my ISP i’d be pretty damn happy.

Also, hopefully i can get my vista PC up today and use it as a media server for my ipod touch. Streaming 1.25TB of movies/music will be pretty intense. Who needs a bigger ipod when you can stream everything from your home server?(Though if iPods ever get to 1.25TB i think i’d buy one).

Maybe when i get more apps on my touch i’ll do a top10 apps i use  for it, in the mean time. Stay Tuned!

Spreading TV All over!

Researchers have explained that they will soon have a spreadable OLED paste that you can spread anywhere. This paste will also be self powered by its own solar cells.And people think graffiti is a problem now… wait till people can put OLED paste everywhere. Full story here.

Sony DCR-SR45 Camcorder Review

Now that i bought the DCR-SR45, I guess the best thing to do would be review it!

This camera is amazing, the new, sleek design fits perfectly into your hand but delivers a powerful rich picture. With native 16:9 and 4:3 recording, the HQ video is crystal clear with an amazing Carl Zeiss lens. It has face recognition, microphone zoom, full touchscreen 2.7″ LCD and some other amazing features. The best feature of all is it being a 30GB HDD(Hard disk drive) camcorder, which allows me to quickly plug it in through USB and ‘drag and drop’ videos to my desktop. This makes video recording/editing much more fun than sitting and ‘firewiring’ tapes in real time to your computer, after you’ve already done the exciting stuff!

All-in-all if you aren’t looking for an HD camera and you are happy with 16:9 widescreen, this camcorder is the best thing you can buy.

Toronto needs to be more like Portland, free City-Wide WiFi

I found this site this morning. Seems as portland has free city-wide WiFi, which is amazing. Toronto proposed a similar idea in 2006, but as it developed they are charging $29/mo for this access, which is reasonable, but only covers the 6km Downtown core.

Now if you hang out down there that is definately an amazing deal, and cheaper than most providers. I am definately going to look more into this, maybe i will be hanging out in downtown toronto more on the weekends!

Apple.com out of stock, New iPhone on the way?

If you have been to apple.com lately you would have seen that there are no iPhones in stock in the us or uk. This could either mean two things:The new 3G iPhone is coming very soon.orThey are simply selling more than they can produce whats the real story…
